Mission tools
This is the foundation every CDA Miami leader should know inside and out. These six pieces build on each other — work through them in order, from why we exist down to how we get things done. Come back anytime as a refresher.

Our mission is to lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Our vision is to be a relationally-driven organization that helps make that growth possible — for everyone, not just for us.

How we filter everything we do.
Every ministry decision runs through the same lens: our relationship with God, with each other, and with the world around us.
1. Intimacy with GodThis one's about closeness with God — not just knowing about Him, but actually pursuing Him. Like any relationship, it doesn't happen on autopilot. You have to put in the time. A marriage where nobody shows up for each other isn't going to feel intimate, and it's the same with God — closeness takes ongoing effort, not a one-time decision.
2. Community with insiders
We weren't made to do this alone. Real life change happens in the context of real relationships — people who know you, encourage you, and call you out when you need it. Left to ourselves, we tend to drift. So we stay connected to other believers on purpose, not by accident, because we need each other more than we think.
3. A Light to the world
God's invited us into what He's doing in other people's lives — so we take that seriously with the people around us who don't know Him yet. Our approach is simple: invest in your friends, then invite them in at the right moment. Some of our most on-fire people today started out as just a coworker or neighbor who got invited somewhere and had a real encounter with God. Nothing energizes faith like watching God use you to reach someone else.
Bottom line: growing spiritually isn't about finishing a class or knowing more facts — it's about growing in these three relationships, together.
This short course walks you through the three relationships every maturing believer is growing in — intimacy with God, community with insiders, and being a light to the world. -
What we believe, and why it matters.
We understand there is room for Christians to disagree or have differences of opinion on certain non-essential issues of doctrine and theology. There is however a set of beliefs which we consider to be essential to our faith and we embrace them without wavering. These are the essentials...
The Bible
We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 [NLT]; Hebrews 4:12 [NIV]; 2 Peter 1:20-21 [NIV]; 1 Thessalonians 2:13 [NIV].
The Triune God – Godhead
We believe there is only one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. The triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all. Deuteronomy 6:4 [NLT]; Isaiah 43:10-11 [NLT]; Matthew 28:19 [NIV]; Colossians 2:9 [NIV]; Colossians 1:16-17 [NIV]
Jesus Christ
We believe as God's son, that Jesus Christ was both human and divine, the second person of the Godhead, one with, and the same as God.
We believe that Jesus Christ:
Is God's only begotten Son. Luke 1:32-33 [NIV]
Was Conceived by the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:35 [NIV]
Was born of a virgin. Matthew 1:23 [NIV]
Lived a sinless life. 1 Peter 2:22 [NIV]
Did Miracles. Luke 19:37 [NLT]
We believe:
In His teachings. 2 Corinthians 5:21 [NIV]
In His atoning death. Matthew 20:28 [NIV]
In His bodily resurrection. Luke 24:39 [NLT]
In His ascension into heaven. Acts 1:9 [NKJ]
In His intercession for believers. Romans 8:34 [ENG]
In His return to earth with power and glory. Acts 2:33a [NLT] Philippians 2:9-11 [NIV] Hebrews 1:3 [NIV]
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, promised by the Father and declared by Jesus Christ. We believe:
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and impending judgment. We believe the Holy Spirit seals, sanctifies, and empowers the believer of Jesus Christ at the point of regeneration. John 16: 7-11 [NIV]; Ephesians 1:13-14 [NIV]; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 [NIV]; 1 Peter 1:2 [NIV]; 2 Timothy1:7 [NIV].
The Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. Rom 8:9 [DHH/NIV]; 1 Corinthians 3:16 [NIV]; 2 Timothy 1:14 [NLT]; Romans 8:26 [NIV]; Ephesians 2:22 [NLT]; Galatians 5:16 [NLT]
The Holy Spirit baptizes the seeking believer with power for service through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8a [NIV]; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 [NIV]
The Holy Spirit continuously fills the seeking believer and this infilling is reflected in the life of the believer through the fruit of the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 [NLT]; Romans 8:16 [NLT]
New Life in Christ
We believe in having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As we pursue a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, we engage in the lifelong process of becoming more like Him. Through prayer, reading of the Bible, and fellowship with other believers we become more Christ like. John 14:6 [NIV]; Romans 3:23 [NLT]; Romans 5:8 [NLT]; Ephesians 2:8-9 [NLT]
The Mission of the Church as the Body of Christ
The Church is the representation of the body of Jesus Christ, of which Christ is the head and all believers are members. The mission of the church is to impact the world with the message of Salvation through Jesus Christ and help people enjoy a personal and growing relationship with Him. Ephesians 1:23 [NLT]; Matthew 28:19-20 [NIV]; 2 Corinthians 5:17 [NLT]
Baptism by Immersion
Baptism by immersion is a public declaration of my relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Bible commands us to be baptized and to baptize. Baptism is symbolic of the commitment a believer makes to serve God and demonstrates the faith of the believer. Baptism also symbolizes death to the old way of living and resurrection to a new way of living in Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:12 [NLT]; Matthew 28:19 [NIV]
The Lord’s Supper
We believe in the observance of the Lord’s Supper consisting of bread and wine. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ and a proclamation of His second coming. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 [NLT]
Worship of God
We believe worship is the surrendering of a believer’s entire life to the service of God. As we seek God through a growing relationship with Him, He reveals his glorious nature to us. The revelation we receive leads us to value and honor God with our thoughts, words, and actions. This lifestyle of surrender and honoring of God is our act of worship. Worship is not only what happens at church, it is what takes place in the believer’s entire life, at all times and in all places. Romans 12:1 [NLT]; John 4:21-23 [NLT]
Divine Healing
We believe Jesus Christ’s wounds, a product of his sacrifice on the cross, affords us an opportunity for divine healing. Through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the prayers of believers and/or the laying on of hands, God can heal from illness. 1 Peter 2:24b [NLT]; James 5:14-16 [NLT]
Laying on of Hands
We believe in the laying on of hands for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the ordination of qualified men and women as Pastors, Elders, and Deacons, and for the receiving of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Acts 6:6, and 8:17 [NLT]; 1 Timothy 4:14 [NLT]
The Apostles Creed
We believe in what is termed the “Apostles Creed”; that it embodies the fundamental facts of the Christian faith.
Eternal Life
We believe we are eternal souls. We believe that Jesus Christ died, resurrected, and has gone to prepare a place for all believers. We adhere to the faith that we will one day live and reign with Christ forever. John 14:2-3 [NLT]; I John 5:11 [NLT]
Marriage
We believe that marriage is exclusively the legal union of one genetic male and one genetic female sanctioned by the State and evidenced by a marriage ceremony. We also believe that legitimate biblical sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence, sexual activities such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, pre-marital sex, incest, polygamy, homosexuality, transgenderism, bisexuality, cross-dressing, pedophilia and bestiality are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the Church. Further, lascivious behavior, the creation, viewing, and/or distribution of pornography and efforts to alter one’s physical gender or gender-related appearance are incompatible with true biblical witness. Genesis 2:24 [NIV]; 1 Corinthians 5:11; 6:9, 6:18-20; 7:1-3; 7:8-9 [NIV]; Romans 1:18-32 [NLT]
God as the Creator
We believe in the creation and God as the creator. We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. As such, He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, homosexuality, and all other “sexual preferences” or “orientations” are unnatural, sinful and unacceptable to God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 [NIV]; 1 Timothy 1:9-11 [NLT]. Accordingly, this ministry will not perform any marriage ceremonies between two individuals of the same sex. It will not condone or recognize such same-sex marriages, civil unions, or domestic partnerships even if the State passes laws that provide for recognition of such unions.

Where all of this plays out.
Guests. Our weekend services — the front door of CDA Miami. This is where we invite friends, family, and coworkers who don't yet have a church home. Every guest gets VIP treatment: they're welcomed, they're expected, and they never feel out of place.
Friends. The next step after a first visit. Smaller settings — like our café or special events — where people move from being a face in the crowd to someone we know by name. Relationships start forming here at a comfortable, in-between depth: not a deep commitment yet, but more than a stranger.
Family. Where real growth happens. Our Home Small Groups bring people together in a safe, consistent environment to recap the weekend message and dig into it through honest discussion. This is where you're known, not just recognized — where accountability lives, questions get asked out loud, and people take their next step toward maturity in Christ, whether that's baptism, discipleship, or simply deeper community.

How to do it the right way.
Worth It is a set of principles that make up our organizational culture. We can have the best vision in the world, with the best strategy, but it won’t work if we create the wrong culture within our organization. This is true in the business world and it’s also true in the church. Our organizational culture allows us to execute our mission effectively.
